Fast growing Chicago-based new media group is seeking an experienced Business Development Director to cultivate key business relationships throughout the region. Innovative, fast paced and collaborative environment. Tremendous upside potential.
JOB SUMMARY
Identify, cultivate, and manage key business relationships in the real estate, civic, and economic development arenas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Initiate introductions with high profile community leaders (real estate brokerages and political, neighborhood, economic, and civic organizations)
- Maintain and manage multiple ongoing community relationships with key personnel
- Present platform, prepare proposals, and effectively negotiate terms and deliverables
- Manage Business Development team and assigned Online Sales Associates and coordinate with marketing and CRM team initiatives to meet firm deadlines and produce consistent deliverables
- Participate and represent firm at local industry events
- Maintain pulse of online media, real estate, technology and related arenas
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Impeccable professionalism, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast pace, exciting environment
- Ability to effectively call on high level public officials is paramount
- Online media background a plus
- Real estate, political and/or economic development background a plus
- Extremely effective public speaking
- Highly personable
CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years of strategic business development experience in related industries
- Bachelors Degree in related field. MBA a plus.
